Worth A Shot Farm offer a varity of sevices to fit all of you needs. We pride ourselves in the hands on approach we take with each and every horse on our farm.

Foal Weaning and Imprinting

We specialize in imprinting and starting young horses. We believe it is at this stage that it critical to develop a strong and trusting bond between horse and human.

We offer a one month course that is started during the weaning process. We will bring your foal here to be weaned. While here, your foal will be handled several times a day to insure that it is not overwhelmed all at once. We will work on all the basics to ensure that a good foundation is laid. After that we can move on to more challenging sessions. Each foal is different and will never be pushed past it's limit. You will be completely amazed at how your foal grows in this month.

Sporthorse and Hunter Breeding Prep

We offer Sporthorse and Hunter breeding Prep classes. These classes are designed to help your yearlings prepare to show on the line. We will condition your yearling and teach them how to stand, trot in hand, and most importantly how to walk properly. Most in hand classes can be won with a beautiful working walk. Teaching them how to step under with their hind end. We also teach them to clip, have their manes pulled and all the basic necessities that it takes to get them "show" ready.

We also offer handler services and will travel to show your youngster in hand as well. Please contact us for rates.

Starting Two and Three Year Olds

Worth A Shot Farm also starts two and three year olds. We do extensive ground work to ensure that we are building confidence, fitness and most importantly trust. We do mostly ground driving as we feel that lounging is way to strenuous on a young and growing horses tendons and bone structure. We have found that long lining instead has quicker and better results not only physical but mentally as well. We work on all the basics that they will need in order to move on to being backed. We like them to have a solid halt, be able to bend, and most importantly how to move forward. After all these are in place we can began to work with them under saddle.

Clipping and Braiding

Worth A Shot Farm offers professional braiding and clipping services on and off farm. We specialize in problem horses and do everything in out power to do it with out sedating the horse.  We feel that this is vert important as with sedation they do not learn to tolerate it. In all my years of clipping I have never had to sedate one single horse. Yes it takes longer but to me it is time well spent. Many horse actually even grow to enjoy it. Catch Rider

Worth A Shot Farm is proud to introduce our young rider Maria Armento. She is available to school your ponies and is also available to catch ride at shows. We do require a 2 week advance notice to secure her schedule how ever if you contact us we may be able to make other arrangements. Maria has many Championships and Reserve championships already under her young belt. She has shown W/T through the beginner jumpers.
